Church of Christ vs Baptist does Faith alone save

Most of us have a different view about Baptism. Some say it has nothing to do with salvation, some say it doesn’t matter how it is completed sprinkled or immersion . Some say it matters who performs the Baptism some say it doesn’t matter who performs the Baptism.  The only thing we can agree on is we disagree. The following verses describe how we should handle the subject.

God says you don’t need anyone to teach us, the bible is already translated; gather all scriptures that applies to the subject read them don’t add anything that is not there, what does it say? We are not children anymore, we are to be like the Berean. Hear both sides and examine scriptures, and don’t let anyone cheat you thru philosophy and empty deceit or traditions. If anyone adds to or takes away they as well as you will be cursed.

29And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. 30But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.

Many of the passages in the Holy Scriptures are misunderstood and misrepresented. Baptism is not the least of them. It's a controversial subject, and while many people will accept and receive what the Bible says about other subjects, it is not so with Baptism.

I list below 10 requirements of Bible Baptism and I plead with you to examine each point seriously and see if your baptism meets these "10 Commandments." First, please know that (1) Baptism is a command from God (Matt. 28:19-20; Mk. 16:15-16; John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38). As a command from God, all those worshipping God should obey. (2) Its purpose is to save by washing away SINS and making us new creatures. (Acts 2:38, 22:16; 2 Cor. 5:17.)

Now, Bible Baptism requires:

1. Water -- Hebrews 10:22; Acts 10:47-48. There is no need for soap, sponge, wash cloth, etc.

2. Much Water -- John 3:22-23. Enough to cover your whole body.

3. Going Unto the Water -- Mark 1:5; Acts 8:38. Go to where water can be found.

4. Going Down Into the Water -- Acts 8:38; 1 Cor. 10:1-2. Get into the water so you can get covered.

5. Coming Up Out Of The Water -- Acts 8:39; Mark 1:9-10.

6. Form of Birth -- John 3:3-5. Into the water then out.

7. Burial -- Romans 6.4; Colossians 2.12. As a symbolic form of burying a dead body.

8. Resurrection -- Romans 6.5; Colossians 2.12. Resurrection from being buried in baptism.

9. A Willing Subject -- Acts 8.36; Mark 16.16. That person to be baptized must be old enough to know why and be willing to be baptized.

10. Human Administrator -- Matthew 28.19; Acts 8.12-13. Someone (a human being) should perform the baptism.

Some ask, "So do you mean all those baptized by immersion will be saved?" Allow the Bible to answer! Really the best question to ask Is "What Must I Do To Be Saved?" On the day of Pentecost, when the people (who needed salvation for their souls), asked Peter (who had the right answer) what must they do in order to be saved in Acts 2.37, Peter told them to repent and be baptized! (Acts 2.38.) You see, the act of saving is with the Lord. Our business is to obey Him in regard to baptism.

Paul says there is only one method of baptism in Ephesians 4.5, and as our Master Jesus was baptized by immersion (Matthew 3.13-17), and that method is also taught in the Holy Scriptures (Acts 8.38-39), then we must do just that. Anything other than this does not fulfill the requirements of scriptural baptism. If your baptism is wrong -- not authorized by the Bible -- you can still do it correctly. (See Acts 19.1-7.) Let's go back to the Bible baptism of Immersion after Hearing and Believing God's Word, Repentance and Confession.
