Sabbath: originally comes from a Hebrew word Shabbat.  The word means A rest.  This word can refer to a day, festive period, month or year.  ( there are 59 references to the Sabbath in the NT 84 show worshiping on the Sabbath) the book of Acts was written around 30 years after Jesus Death Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8 Numbers 23:20 “cannot reverse it 1 Chronicles 17:27 “For thou blesset. O Lord. And it shall be blessed for ever

The Sabbath is the mark of a true Christian God tells us plainly and bluntly, "Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God" (Ezekiel 20:20.)

We do not worship the Sabbath day; we worship Jesus on the Sabbath day according to His own instructions. He was cocreator of the heavens and the earth (John 1:1-3, 10), so Jesus as "the Word" rested on the Sabbath after creation and during His life on earth. We have no command to keep any other weekly day of worship, no matter what is culturally or socially convenient.Jesus was furious over a similar setting aside of one of the Ten Commandments when He said, "You leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men" (Mark 7:8, RSV). "Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them" (Ezekiel 22:26).

No chapter or verse that changes The Sabbath, Saturday to Sunday God did not ordained any other day

Someone asked Jesus how one obtains eternal life. Jesus' answer is in Matthew 19:17: "If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."

No Scripture stating the Lords day is Sunday

·        Geneses 2:2 2And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

·        "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.." (Mark 2:27)

·        8For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” Matthew 12:8

·        13“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, ( The of the LORD) Isaiah 58:13

·       8“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.- Exodus 20:8

·        (From the Hebrew verb Shabbat, meaning "to rest from labor"; the day of rest) is used is in Exodus 16:23.

·        That the Sabbath had been ordained prior to Sinai is even accounted for in the very wording of Exodus 20:8: The statement "Remember..." indicates prior knowledge.r5

·       "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." - Isaiah 66:22, 23

·        13“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day,

·        And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure,Nor speaking your own words, (Isaiah 58:13)

·        The Law of Sabbaths 10“Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its produce, 11but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. In like manner you shall do with your vineyard and your olive grove. 12Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed. (Exodus and Leviticus 25)

·        The Sabbath 3‘Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings (Leviticus 23:3).

·        (Hebrews 4:4-9) 4For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; c 5and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”6Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:

·        “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”e

·        8For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

·        (Exodus 31:16) Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ”

·        12Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed. Exodus 23:12

Love and Obedience Rewarded

11Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.12Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1Corinthians 10:11-13)

·       1“Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always (Deuteronomy 11”1)

·       23Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. (John 14:23-24)

·       Christ Fulfills the Law 17“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew  5:17-20)

·       Jesus Rejected at Nazareth 16So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: 18“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,j To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; (Luke 4:16-17)

·       Preaching Christ at Thessalonica 2ThenPaul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.” (Acts:17:2-3)

·       Not Legalism but Christ 16So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)

·       Defilement Comes from Within 7And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’b 8For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of menc —the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.” (Mark 7:9)

·       The Sabbath Law 12And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 13“Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. 14You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ” 18And when He had made an end of speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God. (Exodus 31:12-18)

Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:8-11)

·        The Exodus 37Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. 38A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock.(Exodus 12:37=38)

·       The Permanence of God’s Covenant 17“For thus says the Lord: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; 18nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.’ ” 19And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, 20“Thus says the Lord: ‘If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season, 21then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers. 22As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’ ” ( Jeremiah 33:17-22)

·        7And in vain they worship Me,  Mark 7:7
